Gun 22 Caliber - The .22 Long Rifle cartridge (also known as 5.7×17mmR) is the oldest firearm cartridge still in use. ".22 LR" is so old that the date of the cartridge's invention is closer to the Declaration of Independence than the day. Despite the bullet's young age, it remains the most popular sub-.223 round in America and the fifth most popular caliber overall, with more than one hundred thousand .22LR rifles and chambered pistols sold each year.
Invented in 1878 by the J. Stevens Arm & Tool Company, the .22 LR is a great practice round to introduce people, especially young people, to the world of firearms. This is the round of Boy Scouts, JROTC cadets and dads taking their kids to shoot for the first time. It has great recoil and is very cheap to shoot. A submachine gun, its ballistics can be measured at a short distance (a .22 LR bullet drops 5.5 inches at a hundred meters), so the shooter experiences factors such as bullet drop and wind drift without using powerful cartridges and expansive cartridges. firing range.

While the .22 LR round is still useful for training, it also has practical applications. Despite its small size, it averages 99 foot-pounds of energy at 1,060 feet per second, which is useful for a variety of small game or vermin. The ammunition is small and compact, and the shooter can comfortably carry hundreds of rounds. While there are obviously more calibers for self-defense and combat shooting, .22 LR still causes significant trauma. Israeli hit squads, including those seeking revenge for the massacre of the Israeli Olympic team in Munich in 1972, use Beretta 71 pistols to kill terrorists.

The Ruger Mark IV Rimfire Pistol is the latest in a long line of rimfire pistols and arguably the company's signature weapon. Originally designed by the founder of the company Bill Ruger himself, the Ruger Standard Model pistol was introduced in 1949 as a standard "plinker gun". The pistol, with its blunt barrel and sharp grip angle, resembles a German Luger. According to legend, the pistol was also based on the Japanese Nambu pistol and the now-defunct Colt Woodsman.
Ruger was an instant hit, in continuous production for almost seventy years. The Standard Mode and its successors are gradually known by Mark numbers, the first pistol is known as the Mark I. The latest version, the Mark IV, was introduced in 2016. The Mark IV is a blowback pistol, meaning it uses the force of the gunpowder explosion to trigger the pistol cycle. This simple operating system ensures reliability and makes the gun less prone to jamming. It has a CNC-machined aluminum frame and a ten-round magazine.
The Browning Buckmark is a .22 LR that has been in production since 1985. The Buckmark is primarily a target or practice pistol, although it also has hunting and self-defense applications. The gun body is CNC machined from 7075 aluminum alloy for strength and durability. Like the Ruger Mark IV, the Buckmark is a blowback pistol. The standard pistol comes with a 5.5 inch target bull barrel.
The Browning pistol holds a single stack magazine of ten rounds and has a single action trigger and iron or fiber optics. Some models are equipped with a Picatinny rail on the upper receiver or under the barrel for mounting optics or aiming devices. The gun is available in both satin stainless steel and blue models with double-sided textured wood or rubber grips.

Introduced in 1964, the Ruger 10/22 rifle is a practical small semi-automatic rifle designed for recreation. With a wooden stock, bladed front sight, and belted barrel, the 10/22 was designed similar to the World War II M-1 carbine. The handy little rifle is extremely popular, with six million sold in 2017.
The 10/22, like the Standard and Buckmark, is a blowback rifle. This weapon is fed from a rotary magazine moved ten-rounds that fit inside the gun before keeping the trigger. Sixteen or eighteen inch pipe is cold hammer forged to extend the life of the pipe. This is a useful feature for a gun that can fire several thousand rounds over its lifetime.
In 2012, Ruger introduced a detachable version of the 10/22 that splits into two parts: the barrel and the rest. The removal process is quick and the optic stays zeroed after the barrel is re-installed.

One of the most unusual firearms on the market, the Chiappa Little Badger is a compact, packable .22 LR rifle for the outdoors. A minimalist weapon, without an operating system, stock, and moving arm, it weighs only 2.9 kilograms. The Little Badger is a single-shot rifle with M1 carbine-style iron sights, wire, and M1.

A single-handed weapon, the Little Badger is not a good choice for a personal defense weapon. However, it is a great gun to take into the backcountry. The rifle has a 16 inch barrel with a total length of thirty one inches. The gun is only seventeen inches long when folded in half.
Revolvers that hold more than six rounds are rare because the diameter of the bullet determines the diameter and weight of the barrel. However, the very small bullet allows gun designers to pack more bullets into the revolver and avoid the impractical wide revolver. Ruger GP-100 packs ten .22 LR bullets into a regular-sized barrel, and externally the only difference between the .22 LR version and the .357 Magnum version is the thickness of the barrel and the number of barrel stops.
The GP-100 .22 LR, like the rest of the GP-100 line, is a brushed stainless steel revolver with rubber and hardwood grips. The revolver also features a 5.5-inch barrel, fiber optic front sight, and adjustable rear sight. At forty-two ounces, the GP-100 weighs more than a Little Badger Chiappa rifle.

Meet The Taurus Tx22: The Best .22 Caliber Gun On The Planet?
I grew up shooting a Colt Huntsman and when I was a kid it was the only gun I was comfortable shooting. I love all 22 Long Rifle chambered guns and now my love for guns is endless.
These are just a few off the top of my head. There are many reasons why the 22LR round is so good.
This is a great gun for kids to start with firearms without having to give them recoil.

However, I have made it my personal mission to get every 22LR pistol I can get my hands on to try and shoot, because simply: I like people.

For many of the handguns on this list I have completed a full written review and for them I will summarize my thoughts and provide you with a link to the full review.
The Ruger Mark IV 22/45 Lite is one of my favorite pistols, actually, not my only favorite 22.
This gun is light, fun and cheap to shoot all day. It doesn't get much more fun than the Ruger Mark IV.
The plain and tactical versions of the Mark IV are loaded with features. Includes threaded barrel for silencer and optics ready for 1913 mounting groove on top.
The Henry Garden Gun Is A Handy .22 Caliber Smoothbore
The best part about the Mark IV is that it is a pistol that will stand the test of time and can be an heirloom that you can pass down to your children.
Like the Ruger Mark IV, the Buck Mark has many different versions and configuration options.
While I haven't done a full review of Buck Mark, which is coming soon, I have done a fair share of it.

The recoil profile is an excellent barrel that keeps the line of fire moving quickly and smoothly.

The Glock 44 is an impressive new release from Glock and one of the best 22 pistols on the market in my opinion.
If you have a Glock 19 or other compact Glock models, you will love the Glock 44. It gives you the same Glock feel, but the price of this round is extremely low.
Glock 44 threaded barrel has become hard to find, but want to install a suppressor in it to make a pistol some staple.
As you can see from my full Glock 44 review, I rate this gun. I know this is not without problems, but it has worked well for me so far.
Starting Pistol Track
If you are a Glock fan, you can stop here and have a great time with the Glock 44, I doubt you will regret it.
The Taurus TX 22 is another fun pistol. The TX 22 is reasonably priced and comes with a thread
